Fame, clout, money, and popularity; Jade Williams, a freelance hip hop dancer, has everything any high school senior could want, including the finest, flyest basketball player in school, Mike Harrison. Raised by her rich mother to believe that as long as she has status, money, and the perfect man, her future will always be bright, Jade will do whatever it takes to uphold her mother’s expectations.

That is, until she becomes curious about a not so ordinary guy, who happens to be the school’s most bullied student.

The more she feeds her curiosity and and gets to know him while planning for life after high school, the more she realizes she faces an important decision: choosing a life of pettiness, pride, and popularity, or walking a path towards empathy, compassion, and love.

I just don't even know where to begin with this book, other than to say it needs to win an award for debut novel. It is explosive. Powerful. Masterfully written. Heartbreakingly accurate.

Our teenagers face so many different things that they need to know and feel that they are not the only ones. If you got a teenager that loves to read then recommend this book to them.

I wish it was stories written like this when I was in middle and high school. I absolutely LOVE this book! I love how realistic the story was written. It was heartfelt, mysterious, and realistic. It captured most youth student's reality from friendships to family issues. And how most principles and teachers tend to overlook severe problems. I liked how the story focused on modern-day issues in today's world in schools. The characters were outstanding. The writing flow was amazing too. It's the perfect book for a teenager. Highly recommended!
